What is a Dental Assistant?

Dental Assistants assist the dentist to provide more efficient dental treatment, by preparing the patient for treatment, sterilizing instruments, passing instruments during the procedure, holding a suction, taking dental radiographs, taking impressions, and making temporary crowns. The dental assistant is the dentist’s extra set of hands.
Dental Assistants work together with the dentist and hygienists to provide oral healthcare to the public. Dental Assistants make the restorative, sterilization and operative sides of dentistry run smoothly.
